- The gram weight in a cartridge is the weight of lead, not the weight of powder!
- Muzzle Velocity is the speed at which the shot emerges from the end of the gun barrel.
Standard Pattern Testing is the number of shot marks counted on a 30” diameter pattern plate at a range of 40 metres. Bismuth and Tungsten are five times more expensive as lead and do not pattern as well as lead at longer ranges. There are approximately 287 pellets in a 12 bore 30 gram 6 shot cartridge.
